Since September 2024, she has set up her studio at the Ecole d'Art du Beauvaisis, where, thanks to the expertise of her teachers, she has been able to appropriate and train in ceramics and enamel. Focusing on the theme of holy warriors slaying a dragon, such as Saint Martha or Saint Margaret, Kubra Khademi pushes back the limits of the formats allowed by this technique and strives to tame the materiality and fragility inherent in this practice, in an instinctive and committed approach, in the image of her work.
A first glimpse of his work will be unveiled at the international symposium on highly decorated ceramics organized by Beauvais's municipal archaeological department on June 4, 5 and 6 (see page XX), prior to the public presentation of this monumental work at the Quadrilatère.
Chevalier des arts et des lettres, Kubra Khademi, an Afghan artist of Hazara origin, is supported by the Lille-based production company Latitudes Contemporaines and represented by Galerie Mouchet in Paris. She has just published a graphic novel entitled La fille et le dragon for which she produced all the drawings, forging a fruitful collaboration with Nicole Lapierre, socio-anthropologist and director emeritus of research at the CNRS, who produced the texts.
Project organized by Latitudes Contemporaines, Galerie Mouchet, l'école d'art du Beauvaisis, le service municipal d'archéologie, le Pôle unifié des enseignements artistiques du Beauvaisis - Ecole d'arts and le Quadrilatère, with support from DRAC Hauts-de-France.
